About me
Brazilian | 23y, founder of Absurd Studios, brand strategist & video editor
Video editing for me was always a means to and end, that is: the goal of any piece of storytelling, in any form, is always to sell.
Sell an idea, feeling or perspective to an audience so they may care about it and desire it.
This video was inspired by Daniel Dalen and Iman Gadzhi's style but also with my own twist. I'm not a flashy editor—when I don't have to be—and I focus more on building a strong narrative and good pacing.
PS: I use — because I'm a writer, this was not made by chatGPT lol and the video is a personal vlog
My fav works
Probably my fav wedding video to the date.
Mainly because I had 100% creative freedom to choose the style, song and pacing.
The couple just wanted something that would fit the Super 8 camera they used, so I used a more stylized color grading, blurred graphics that match the lack of sharpness of analog cameras and a song that would fit the vintage vibe.
I don't get to have that much freedom in project always so I really enjoyed this one.
I like the contrast of feelings from this one.
In this one I did't get to choose the song and they sent me a reference of wedding videos the couple like.
Which had a very "epic feeling", a montage in the beginning and then ended up with high energy again.
This one had A LOT of footage tho.
This one was very culturally different.
The couple was from Lebanon and they had some very interesting cerimonies including a "coffee ceremony" that I also did a video on it.
I was not particularly a fan of the VFX here, but the client insisted in using some and making it feel "epic" and "big".
But I really like the ending of it and the narrations of them talking about each other.
Short-form
Most short-form I've done was in Brazil so they'll be all in Portuguese... but towards the end of this page there's an audio sample of me talking just so you know I can communicate lol
My content
I create content about how to create meaningful work and achieve creative independence through becoming a one person business. I talk branding, philosophy, marketing, health, storytelling...
Basically all that I've learned creating since I was 10 years old and having spent more than $25k in courses, books and testing different business and hopefully people can earn more and spend less, create more fulfilling work and make less mistakes because of my content.
Video about using polarity to create a cult-following.
(Translated automatically by Instagram to English)
Video about the book Primal Branding and how it is one of the most recycled books in branding courses.
This one is explaining what a company did in Brazil similar to the American Eagle scandal (Instagram did not translate this one tho)
Old vids
This is one of the videos I don't feel too cringe about to share lol (I was very inspired by Peter McKinnon back then)
I was explaining the concept of B Roll and A Roll and how this YouTuber I used to watch was talking about "C Roll".
Which was a type of B Roll but not intended to be used as B Roll and more like a spontaneous recording of everyday life and not a calculated plan of "what should be B Roll to fill the gaps".
Anyway, I'm not showing this to show my editing abilities because I think I improved, but to show more about pacing, narrative, script writing and YouTube knowledge from years of experience since I don't have many YouTube client videos to show.
Literally one of my first videos on YouTube lol
I was around 11 in this video and had been creating for more than a year (this was 2013).
I used to create videos telling stories in Minecraft and doing some animations on Cinema 4D.
But this one in particular is about me entering a YouTube Network Group back in the day (like Machinima if anyone reading this is familiar with it)
